Paramount Skydance Set to Cut Nearly 2,000 American Positions – News
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to begin large-scale job cuts the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative valued at $2bn led by CEO David Ellison.
The layoffs follow the merger between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized during August with a value of $8.4bn.
Further international job cuts are expected, with the company intending to reveal all specifics in its third quarter earnings report scheduled for November 10.
Earlier reports had indicated the company was looking to cut from 2,000 and 3,000 positions before the start of November.
As of December 2024, Paramount retained about 18,600 workers on full-time and part-time contracts along with 3,500 contract workers.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented on the matter.
